Our Working Horses

We currently have 15 (yes, fifteen!) equine at Echo Hill Farm, including 3 darling minis named Buddy ,Jeep, and Oscar! Buddy and Jeep belong to a good friend. Many of our horses are rescues; some are retirees living out their best days here with us. I am in the process of posting individual biographies of each rescue. Those can be found on our "Rescue Stories" and "Retirees" pages. If you would like to sponsor one of our rescues or retirees, any support is greatly appreciated!

Below are the "working" horses at Echo Hill. (Don't worry -- nobody works TOO hard!)

Thor

Thor is a 16 year old Percheron cross, and definitely the boss of the pasture! He is Tommy's big baby (Ruth gave him to Tommy for Christmas in 2012) and is very personable. Don't let his size fool you -- he's lots of fun to ride!

Harley

Harley is a Belgian cross, a gentle giant who loves people and attention! He is 19 years old and is part of our lesson program. He's a great beginner's horse for people of all ages and sizes! He is a member of our parade team.

Major

Major is a rescue, and Ruth's personal parade horse. In this photo, Ruth and Major wait for the step-off of the Dacula Memorial Day Parade. Major loves meeting the public at parades!

You can read Major's rescue story on our "Rescue Stories" page.

Scooby

Scooby is a little rescue that belongs to our friend and teen instructor, Emilee G. Scooby has been part of our lesson program, and he is one of the Echo Hill parade horses!

You can read Scooby's rescue story on our "Rescue Stories" page.

Twister

Twister retired several years ago from being Ruth's show horse and parade horse. He's 24, but he's still full of get-up-and-go! He's currently working with a teenage boy, who hopes to be able to ride Twister on the parade team!

Crackerjack

Crackerjack is a 17 year old Haflinger pony cross. Ruth says he looks like a Barbie pony! He's an intermediate lesson pony, because he's got typical pony attitude, and sometimes he has a mind of his own! Isn't he a cutie?
